Add xref attributes one line symbols

Add xref attributes one line symbols

For some reason x-ref's do not pick up on the one line symbols.

A client of ours want to know how they can quickly check the connection between the parent symbol and the one line symbol has been made, without checking each symbol individually using the surfer?

This image shows the connecting between one line and schematic symbols:

This image shows the xref not picked up within the symbols attributes:

xref empty.PNG

We think that an enhancement should be made to pick up the xref of the parent schematic symbol on the one line symbol, therefore the attribute can be used and shown on the drawing making it obvious the connection has been made.

Thanks for your feedback. We shall try to see if we can make the enhancement as per this proposal in future relaease.

POSSIBLE WORKAROUND:

I think this cross-reference between two parents on different WDTYPE drawing "modes" (ex: One-line drawing and Schematic, WDTYPE values of "1-" and blank respectively) currently works only when the TAG1 attrbitute values are different AND when each carries a WDTAGALT attribute value equal to the other's TAG1 name. For example, the 1-line shows a solenoid marked "FV101". The schematic shows this soleniod's coil as "SV-227". The 1-line symbol is set to carry WDTAGALT value of "SV-227" and schematic symbol set to carry WDTAGALT value of "FV101". Cross-referencing now takes hold (assuming the project's Properties >  "Cross-References" tab > "Peer to Peer" option is toggled "ON")

But when the two TAG1 values are the same (ex: solenoid symbol on one-line is marked with TAG1 attribute value of "FV101" and the same solenoid on the schematic is also marked with TAG1 value of "FV101") AND the WDTAGALT attribute on each symbol is unused (i.e. blank), then the cross-referencing code does not seem to kick in to process this pair. BUT, if you enter "FV101" as WDTAGALT on the schematic symbol and "FV101" as WDTAGALT on the 1-line symbol, then this seems to be enough to kick in the cross-referencing between the 1-line symbol and schematic symbol.

This is not a fix. It's a workaround.
