xref company logo into paper space titleblock

Is it possible to xref my company logo into a paperspace titleblock?  I swear I was able to do this a few years back but now everytime I type in "XREF" to bring in the logo it pops me into to model space.  (Just to clarify we have our titleblock in paper space and we have a model space window in which we have the building drawings).

I don't bother with an XREF for our company logo in the title block. I just made it into a block and inserted it into the dwg I saved as the template.

Now if a change to the Logo comes through, I just update the block dwg before updating the template.

The benefit to this is that when the dwg goes outside the company, there is no need to make sure the XREF's are bound or extra files that need to sent.
