In autocad electrical
when I ask the numbering of the wires (for example in sheet 5) in the format "% S-% N" the result is: ?? -5.
Pratically it doesn't see the number of the sheet as You can see in the attachment.
I've the same problem with the references.
I've used a different type of title blocks (also original) with the same bad result.
Where do You think is my mistake?
Thanks for your help
Luigi
Yeh i had this problem, as long as your template is setup correctly i.e sht is set to %S, click on the wire numbers tab in the ribbon, then select the 'Format override' box and then have your wire tag format set as %S.%N.
that worked for me so hopefully works for you too! im new to autocad aswel so there might be better ways of doing it but im sure someone will shed light on the subject if there is 🙂
it's very strange.
After your information I've verified and in title block parameter the setting is %S and
in parameter of sheet the setting is %S.%N but doesn't work.
Do You have other suggestion for me?
however many thanks for your help
luigi
Like i said i just selected format overide in the actual wire numbers tab and that worked for me. not sure how else to do it, i have a feeling it may be something to do with the setup of the wire layers but i may be wrong.
sorry i cant be of more help
In your Project Manager window, right click on one of the offending drawings. Look to see if you have a value in the Sheet field at the bottom.
I use the .wdt and .wdl files, but have also used the wd_tb block. Regardless of which one you use, you have to make sure you have an attribute in the drawing for the sheet number and that you have mapped that attribute to = SHEET.
In the default.wdt file you will see the following:
;; = SHEET for AE CONFIG's sheet value (the %S value)
SH# = SHEET
SH# being our attribute name for sheet number.
By insuring these are mapped then it will show up in your properties and will show up when using %S%N for wire numbers and references.
Two things that I can think of:
1. Right-click on the sheet 5 drawing and select Properties -> Drawing Properties. Make sure "5" is in the Sheet field.
2. Make certain you are using a "%S" and not a lower case "%s".
Thanks
but I've already tested that You say me and everything seem ok.
for this I've think to problem with the layers.
Do You have other suggestions for me ? It's very important

Dear Electrician man1
my case it's incredible. As You can see in the attached file I find the rigth value in # S (5).
I've lost every hope to find a solution.

Dear All
I think I made a interesting step in the right direction.
If I write the number of sheet in the drawing properties everything is ok (e.g.:result is 3-5).
If I write the number of sheet in the sheet in the attribute "#S" is wrong (e.g.:result is: ??-5)
If I use together, the writing number is what I've put in drawing properties.
I remember You, I use WD_TB method but with the WDT was the same.
Can You now, give me one help?
Thanks in advance.
Luigi
My best advice is literally run through your template setup again using the tutorial. it just sounds like your getting confused with your attributes, type 'tutorial' in the help section and it will end up working.
best of luck
