Vertical Wire Numbers - how to

This comes up from time to time. You want wire numbers for vertical wires to come in automatically rotated 90 degrees so that the wire number lays along the wire. To do: 1. Determine the schematic symbol library in use and open drawing "wd_wnv.dwg" in AutoCAD. 2. Rotate the WIRENO attribute 90 degrees (you can use the AcadE "rotate wire number" cmd if you'd like) 3. Save 4. Open drawing "wd_wcv.dwg". Repeat steps 2 and 3. That's it. Wire numbers for new drawings will come in auto-rotated.

It would be nice to have a Rotate Wire Number (Rotate Attribute) command located next to the flip and toggle (in-line) icons in the Ribbon.

Lets face it, it should be able to identify which wire is is vertical or horizontal and select a different symbol.

Currently, if you do vertical 3phase and put 3phase wire numbers in, you can't use the AEALIGN tools, it's expecting them to be horizontal.

Every other package out there does this, and some use the slope of the wire and rotate it automatically.

Wire color/Gauge labels, follow the wire (horz/vert) why can't the wire numbers, Autodesk?

You should post this in the Idea Station.

Hi,Wire numbers can also follow wires(horz/vert), and horizontal wire numbers use WD_ WNH.dwg, vertical line number uses WD_ WNV.dwg (wire number is horizontal by default and can be changed to vertical)
