Hi there,
I´m wondering if someone has a solution for drawing up cable ladders for instance by using the wd_dinrl command.
I´m trying to illustrate the layout of cable ladders on a buildings ground plan. (see attached picture)
Any suggestions highly appreciated.

Hi Gary,
You should add an entry to the wddinrl.xls file.
Its in the same loaction as the catalog files:
C:\Users\<user name>\Documents\Acade 2013\AeData\Catalogs
Copy one of the "Panduits" it should give you the Best start point.
For the ladder style you would have to make use of the "Rail Center" Options.
It creates the gap, so just keep that in mind.
(you will need to make it just a little bit smaller on all of the edges)
i.e. if your rail dim is 3.75 and you want it to look like a ladder it would be close to 3.5 to give .125 on both sides.
I hope this helps,
James Alger
Hi James and thank´s for the prompt reply.
I´m not sure If I understand or how to use the spreadsheet fields in the wddinrl.xls but I´m sure it´s probably simple once you have an idea what does what. Anyway I have attached a file with technical data for cable ladders.
Could you help me to define these values for a cable ladder with a 200mm (type LG 620 NS 3000 FS).
Thank´s again for your support.
Regards, Gary
Hi Gary,
I setup 3 different options for the Cable ladder in the din rail for you.
I'm not sure if they are exactly what your looking for; so try them out and let me know.
To make life easier just open my excel file copy the cable_lad entries and paste them at the bottom of your wddinrl.xls file.

Hi James and thanks for this input.
The outcome is not quite what I´m trying to achieve. I just want to insert a ladder like the one shown on the attached image. Do you think this can be done by modifying the settings of some parameters in the wddinrl file?
Tahnk´s again.

Hi Gary,
That was the closest I could get the spacing and have it look nice.
The Railcen always rounds the edges I'm not sure how to remove the radius.
If we could do that then I could make it work for you.
I'll Keep trying to get it closer to the ladder style.
Regards,
James Alger
