User Columns question.

We are still using 2007. In the Project Properties dialog box under Wire Numbers is a button to Rename User Columns. I am trying to figure out just exactly what this will do an dhow best to put it to use. So far I am coming up dry in the "help" files. Can anyone get me pointed in the right direction?

Thanks.

The Rename User Columns under the project properties wire numbers tab allows
you to re-label the 20 columns in the Create/Edit Wire Type dialog, under
the wire spool fly-out menu. It doesn't change the function, it simply
changes the prompts from User 1 to User 20. Furthermore, if you add
something like _%1 to the Layer Name Format, anything you type into column
User1, or whatever you renamed it to, will be added to the wire layer name.

Note: You can still type information into the user columns without adding
them to the layer name format, just in case you simply want to add more
description information about the wire but not have it appear in the layer
name.

One other note about this: The alternate names for the user columns is on a
per-project basis. If you start a new project the user columns will revert
back to User1, User2, etc. If you copy an existing project that has the
user column(s) renamed, you will bring the renamed user columns forward to
the new project.
