Updating massive amounts of information

Here is the scenario:

  1. A manufacturing process queries the project database for information to begin it's assembly process.
  2. A new product involves introducing new parts.
  3. Parts are added to the schematic, which is completed.
  4. New part numbers are finally released
  5. Information is added to the schematics via the export to/import from spreadsheet feature.
  6. Pinlist information is finally added to the default_cat database
  7. Full rebuild is selected for the project database from the drawing project
  8. Drawings are released, machine fails to run.
  9. There is no pinlist information in the project database.
  10. The engineer has to manually update over 1000 parts to get the pinlists updated.

Is there an easy way to fully update the drawings/project database without having to edit each component?

Thanks,

How about the "Component update from catalog" command?

You'll need AcadE 2012 or later to do this....

Well, it sounds like this is exactly what my customer needs.  Currently, we are working with 2011, but I know they are migrating to a later version.  Hopefully, this will ease issues down the road for them.  I obviously cannot test this, right now, but thanks for the information.
