update to the PLC/component database?

I keep getting a message on autocad electrical 2013 for updates to my software. I've tried updating, but my employer, who owns the software license has a firewall in place to prevent unauthorized updates. What I want to know is, is the update worth the effort to convince them to allow for it? I am hoping that the updates also include updating the component and PLC database to include products that we use, such as: AB 1756-ow16i control logix PLC's.

Also, it's not that hard to add whatever modules you need into the PLC-database.
