Title block update

Hi,

Customer has a drawing template with some of the title block information pre-filled. Is it possible to update the title block information to opposite direction - from titleblock to project description lines (LINE1...etc).

Regards

Mako

As far as I know, you cannot extract information from a titleblock and use it to populate the project or drawing properties in ACE.

Only if you do it manually or are good at programing and write a program to do it for you.

Only workaround I can think of is to set SDI to 1, copy the dwg and rename it and then open the original in one session and the copy in a seperate ACADE session.

Open the description dialog box in the first session, and then double click on the title block in the second session. Highligh and then copy the individual attibute data and then paste it into the description dialog.

When finished, close the second session, set SDI to 0 and then save.

Look at your .wdp file for the project.  The descriptions you want are found there.  So, if you know how to extract attributes from you drawing template and write them to a text file, you should be able to extract your info and write to the .wdp file for the project and have your descriptions filled out.
