Title Block Update Ignore part of filemname?

Is there a way to ignore part of the filename when doing a titleblock update?

Example; All filenames are a series of numbers with a couple of letters at end after  "-"  IE: 123-456-789-abc.  Companly wants these letters in filename, but not displayed on drawing.

I'm just curious if anyone knows a trick for this?

Current work around is to use another unused attibute for this modified filename, & remapping the .wdt file.

Enter into Drawing Number field for each drawing, without the part you don't want. Map Drawing number to your titleblock. Filename is just that. Cannot teach program to ignore something after dash.
