Title block instance not found.

I'm setting up a title block to use for a specific client. I've created a .wdt file with reference to the block name of this clients title block. When I go to add a new drawing to the project I get a "Could not find instance of title block=..." I've already made sure my path is right. Could anyone offer any insight to this problem.

If you want to send me the .wdt and a drawing I can try and see what is
happening. My direct email is pat.murnen@autodesk.com

I am having a similar problem. Was this discussion solved? If so, what was the solution.

Make sure that your title block is on the template drawing .wdt file. AcadE
does not insert the title block on to a drawing but only updates it when a
new drawing is created if it is found. Is your title block on the template
as a block insert so that when a new drawing is created using the template
the block is found on the drawing?

Thanks for the quick reply.

The title block is on the template. When I start a new drawing, the title block is inserted okay, I just keep getting that message. I created a second template today with the title block as a block insert. When I start a new drawing using this template, the title block shows up, but there are no attribute attached to it.

If you want to post your template and .wdt if you are using that method I
can take a look.

I tried to post my template, and it told me that file type is not allowed. It is a .dwt. I am sorry, but I am new to this version and have a steep learning curve. I have tried all versions of the .wdt, and when I open it in notepad I can see the block= with my template name there.

thanks for your help.

One thing - in your .wdt file you don't want block={template name}, you want
block={block name}. Where block name is the name of the block that is
inserted on your template drawing. You can have any number of blocks
inserted on the template drawing so you need to tell AcadE which block is
the one that is the title block and should have its attributes updated.

You can try zipping the files, the .dwt and the .wdt and posting or if you
want you can send them directly to me at pat.murnen@autodesk.com.
