Symbol Builder "Attribute template Library path:" Help??

ACADE 2010

In the 'Select Symbol / Objects' dialog I have to enter a Symbol Builder "Attribute template Library path" every time for Builder to work and it is a lot of clicks to get to the correct folder. Is there anyway to set a default path or list of paths (it is a pulldown list) so I don't have to go looking for it for it every time? I have looked extensively through the help and have had no luck finding where/if I can set/change this. Please - I am desperate!!

Thanks in advance!! Edited by: ericp-theelf on Sep 25, 2009 7:36 AM

Symbol Builder looks in the library paths for the active project. If they
contain attribute templates, "AT_*", the path is listed. Are the attribute
templates located in a path that is part of the active project? You could
add the path to the active project and then it should show up in the list of
folders to select from.

Has anyone answered this yet? I have this problem and adding folders to the "Support File Search Path" does not fix it.

Did Pat Murnen mean the paths in the WD.env? I am using AutoCAD 2018 Electrical

I think she was referring to the library paths that are located in the Project Properties

Your symbols have to be in a folder listed in this list for ACE to find them.

You must add the path to your "schematic symbol libraries". You can find this in your project properties.
The top-most path will be the default one. (Given that that path contains the AT_*.DWG and BB*.DWG files)

Go to: C drive>users>public>documents>autodesk>acade>libs>jic125.

I hope this will solve your problem.

I am looking for the location of the file below. It is not in the JIC125 folder, which is where I thought it would be. It ever shows the file types of any new ones that I create.

You should look once more.

It's the files named AT_*.DWG

I finally figured it out.

EX: AT_HP_FU is the attribute mapping for a Horizontal Parent Fuse.

One question left. It now shows up in the list, but how do I edit the name. I copied th DWG for AT_HP_FU and renamed it AT_HP_HTR for my heaters, and it shows up as (HTR)HTR

How do I get it to show up as (HTR)Heaters?

Open your DEFAULT_CAT.MDB, and go to the _FAMILY_DESCRIPTION table.
Add HTR with a description there:
