Split tags & re-tag component command

I've created several symbols using the split tag funtion in order to display only part of our component tags.  Our tagging format is %L-%F%N to format the location code into the tag.  We need to do this because we begin sequential numbering of components at 01 in each of our panels on the same project.  So we'll have PLR-CB01 and PLR-CB01 and so on.  The split tag works great to "hide" the location in the TAG!_PART1 attribute and only display CB01 using the TAG1_PART2 attribute.  I run into problems with the copy component and re-tag commands.  Both of these commands take "PLR" as the family code for the component and give me a new tag of PLR-PLR01.  I have the same issue when I try the IEC tagging mode with installation & location codes formatted into the tag.  Any suggestions on fixing or working around this?  I'm using ACADE 2010.  Thanks,

Nathan
