Slow child comp updates

I have a project with about 100 drawings separated into four folders.  When I edit a child component the process takes quite some time 30 seconds or more..  I'm using a new computer too so I don't think this is the issue. Is there a way to speed this up?

the only time i know off when a project slows up like that is if you have linked terminals in the project there is an issure using a link wire to terminals and using the internal links inside multideck terminals

do you have linked terminals in the project ?

Not sure what you mean by linked terminals so this could be a problem?  Can you better define this term for me?

No linked terminals and still very slow updting components.  I can work around this by selecting Attributes and editing the text.  That is all I am really trying to do when this happens.
