Sequential Numbering customized

How best to configure AcadE to handle sequential wire numbering by layer for the following format: (L1), (L2), (L3), etc.

My company uses parentheses around wire numbers.  For wires in the 'Wires' layer, which reference the line number, my format reads (%N.  The in the suffix list I have 1),2),3),4), etc.  AcadE functions as I expect it to for line referencing.

But when I attempt to do the same thing with sequential wire numberwith the layer setup for sequential number, as I understand it, the wire number comes out at (L100)1), (L101)1) etc.  See attached screen capture of the wire numbering format configuration interface.  I am initiating the number by selecting the first wire in my VAC series, right clicking and going to automatic wire numbering a selecting drawing wide.

Was wanting AcadE 2011 to handle the wire numbering automatically without selecting individual wires.

Go to project properties and click on the wire numbers tab. Add the parentheses to the Format box and remove them from everywhere else.

ACADE will automatically put the number between the parentheses without any other work on your behalf.
