Relay Coil Parent-Child relationship Problem

I was wondering if anyone else has this problem too. We have created a circuit that has a relay coil that has a 2 part tag attribute. Its child contact has the standard tag attribute. We use the insert wblock circuit command to insert the circuit into a drawing. After doing so only the relay coil gets tagged correctly and the child contact stays blank. We tried using the can Autocad Electrical blocks to make the same circuit and both the coil and contacts is updated correctly. The only difference between ours and the can Autocad Electrical blocks is we are using 2 part tag and the caned on only use standard 1 tag. Has anyone figured out a fix?? We are using Autocad Electrical 2009.

Did you try making the child contact a two part tag?

I tried this on a icon menu insert and it worked, but I have not tried the insert wblock circuit.

We tried making both the relay coil (parent) and the contact (child) 2 part tags and we go the same result.

When I use the insert wblock circuit, my child contact is inserted with a question mark in front of the tag name. I then have to use the edit component to link the contact with the coil. It would be nice if it would keep this link on a wblock circuit insert, but I do not know if this is possible.

Maybe this is a bug in the program. We also got the same results as you did too.

Can you zip up and attach the circuit to a post here? I can forward this on
to someone to try and reproduce it and log it if it is an issue. I just want
to make sure we are trying the same thing starting with the same circuit
information. Or you can email it directly to me at pat.murnen@autodesk.com.

Here is a zip with two example circuits we have created that does not work correct. I will also email them to your email also.

I was able to reproduce this issue and have passed it on so it can be
logged. I will post when I hear something more on this.

Sorry for this inconvenience,
