"Drawing List Report" causes crash

3rd post today, but I've had these issues for a while, just today decided to post them all.

When using the "Drawing List Report" (right click on project in the Project Editor) function, I can go all the way through w/ the report, but if I try to use the "Put on Drawing" function, ACE locks up, and RAM use slowly increases (memory leak). I've let it sit for 30+ minutes (over lunch) and it's definitely hosed. It has no problem exporting to excel though.

Workaround (for me at least), is close all other projects in the project editor (even if they're not "Activated"), or just export to Excel, then copy/paste back into ACE.

Some questions to narrow down the problem -

Does this happen everytime on any project and any drawings? The Drawing List
report can extract information based on your title block setup. Are you
using this feature?

What options are you using on the Put on Drawing dialog?

If you want to send me a drawing that this happens on I can take a look. You
can send it directly to me at pat.murnen@autodesk.com

Pat, can you guys not replicate the problem - i.e., is this just a problem w/ my machine? We only have 1 computer w/ ACE2006 on it, so I can't test it. The drawing package is approx

Just tried this morning again and confirmed the problem. Had 2 projects open in project manager. Right click on the active project/drawing list report/new report/put on drawing/OK. Now ACAD.exe is at 35mb RAM usage, 50% (exactly) CPU usage. ACE is frozen - no menus or anything - the screen won't refresh. All other programs are working fine (I'm writing this and checking email right now). I use the same dwglst.set each time I make a table of contents.

Closed ACAD through task manager, reopened, closed box telling me about recovered files, closed all projects in project manager, except one (the same one that caused the crash). Now it lets me put the report on the drawing w/o a hiccup.

I am extracting info from the title blocks on each run.
Default options on Report Generator dialog box and Table Generation Setup dialog. I am extracting page, title, and filename. Runs without a hitch if all other projects are closed.

Since it locks up every time I set up as described above, I'd think it's just a bug somewhere.

Still running SP0 w/ ACE2006. There isn't an SP1, right?

No I cannot replicate this problem as you describe yet. Some questions -

1) When the Drawing List Report dialog is on do you pick the Format button
and specify a dwglst.set file? If so can you send me the .set file? Also,
you might try deleting that file and letting AcadE recreate it.

2) does it matter which 2 projects are open or can it be any 2 projects? If
it happens consistently with a particular drawing set can you email the
drawing set to me? pat.murnen@autodesk.com

3) what options exactly are you picking on the Table Generation Setup
dialog? Are you breaking the report into sepeate sections or placing all
rows down at one time?

Just trying to narrow down where the problem might be. Also, there is a SP1
for Ace2006. I did not see anything in the list of resolved issues that
seemed related but you should install the service pack.

1) I don't specify a file, I guess ACE automatically uses the settings I used the last time I ran a report.

2) Doesn't matter which 2 projects are open, as long as it's more than one. It took me a while to figure out that it'll work only when one project is open.

3) It's all one row. I can get it to work now (of course, after 3 posts), but I get this the first time I try to put it on a drawing. The second time I try it'll add it to the drawing no problem.

Command: wd_dwglst_show_oem "C:/Documents and
Settings/JPlumley.WAYPOINT/Application Data/Autodesk/AutoCAD Electrical
2006/R16.2/enu/Support/user/DWGLST.TMP" "nil"
processing...
report settings from C:\Documents and Settings\JPlumley.WAYPOINT\Application
Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD Electrical 2006\R16.2\enu\Support\user\DWGLST.SET
displaying...
Specify insertion point (Z=zoom down, R=realtime pan, S=object snap):; error:
bad argument type: numberp: nil
Command: Unknown command "CR_POSTSCRIPT)". Press F1 for help.

I think I found the problem - the latest time I tried to run a report w/ a drawing set I knew gave me problems, ACE notified me that I needed to insert the WD_M block. Somehow, that blcok disappeared from about half the set for no reason. Now, that I added it back, it works fine.

I am going to try and duplicate with this information. If I can duplicate I
will log the issue. If there is any fix you can do at your end I will let
you know.

Thanks,
