Proper way to Move a Group of Components

Lets say I have a group of components on maybe one or two rungs or maybe even half a ladder that need to get shifted somewhere because something else needs to be fit in. What is correct way to move this whole group of components either on the same ladder or maybe another ladder in another drawing in the project.

I thought this would be one of the easier things in Electrical but unless I am missing something it doesn't appear to be simple.I understand you can use the Move Component command but that appears to only move one at a time which is kind of inefficient. Is this a scenario where the Circuit Builder would come in to play? I haven't messed with that yet but I might get into it tomorrow if I make it that far in my test project.

Thanks for any information.

Under the 'Insert Circuit' flyout, there are these nifty little functions
called 'Copy Circuit' and 'Move Circuit'

It allows you to select multiple components and the wires connecting them
and copy/move them to another location on the same dwg. To copy or move to
another dwg requires you to save the circuit to the icon menu and then
insert saved circuit in the other dwg.

Very nice. Copying a group like that was also something I was interested in.

Thank you.

Well somewhat nice I guess. Now that I messed with it a little more it seems that sometimes copying doesn't always trigger the wire number options and leaves some weired things behind/overlapping and moving has left me with many "non-intelligent" moves not updating cross references and other things and many times produces a "Error: Bad Argument" error. It will take a little getting used to I guess but it is still quicker than the old way I guess. Edited by: NittanyControls on Feb 26, 2010 2:46 PM
