Project Description Lines

Hi all

Just a niggle that might save someone else a couple of hours hunting for the cause :

If the text field in a Project Description Line begins with a curved bracket ( ,

Title Block Update will fail to update the attribute whose value is mapped from that line.

Beginning the Project Description Line with a square bracket [ doesn't seem to cause a problem. Ho-hum.

Regards

Keith H

I bet the left parenthesis is throwing some LISP code for a loop somewhere.

Keith,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the TItle Block Update. Can you tell me what version of AutoCAD Electrical you are using? I am unable to reproduce this with either 2014 or 2015. Maybe it is related to the actual description after the curved bracket. AutoCAD Electrical does allow you to use an AutoLisp expression in a description line which the result will then map to an attribute in the Title Block Update. Maybe it is interpreting the description as an AutoLisp expression.

Can you post a drawing, and if you are using a .wdt file can you post that? Or Provide an example of a description line that fails?

Scott - are those brackets around 'CAD' real or implied ?

Keith,

What version of ACADE are you using? and what service pack do you have installed?

Can you post a sample drawing / Project with the issue?

I tested this in 2013 sp2, 2014 sp1.1, and 2015 Sp1, and didn't encounter the issue.
