Printing Wires

Hi there,
I am very very new to ACE actually just 2 weeks into it.

During my first drawings, I have to set the main wires thicker than the other wires so I changed the “thickness” to 0.80mm from “By Layer.”
My problem is when I print the drawing from ACE all the wires have the same thickness however when I print it to PDF, it shows the main wires thicker than the other wires as expected.
Why cant ACE print the different thickness? Is there is any other way to print from ACE?

Other problem occurred right when I print to PDF. The relays (only relays, other components, like switches, are OK) relay names, and their comments were printed very thick. All I could see in the PDF was just thick coloured dots.

So either from ACE or PDF I couldn't get the desired result in printing.
Please help me to get a good printing. Thank you.

One thing you might want to check is make sure the Plot Style Table that you
are using has the 'Lineweight' option set to 'Use Object lineweight'.

You might try running the plot command and selecting 'monochrome' as your
Plot Style Table and see if the lineweight plots correctly then. I think
the defect for the monochrome Plot Style Table is to have Lineweight set to
'Use Object lineweight'. If that works, then you should just have to change
the Lineweight setting of the Plot Style Table you are using to 'Use Object
lineweight' by using the 'Plot Style Manager'

Hi Steve Kemp,

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I am very sorry to say that it didn't help me much. The outputs are the same as before and I think if you see the pdf print you might get an idea about the problem. I attached a pdf file with this which shows the problem.
The relays looks thicker than the my thick wires (0.80mm).

Thank You.

Hi Steve Kemp,

Sorry for the second reply. I missed a point.
I am using ACE 2004 and I cant find "monochrome" on the plot window. Is that there in the 2004 version or its a new stuff?
Also I checked for the check mark besides the "Plot Object lineweight" under the "Plot Options" and its was already checked.

I was trying this on ACE 2006 so I have tried it on ACE 2004 now. Attached
is the plot dialog from my ACE 2004 showing were the monochrome option
should be (this gets installed by defect with ACE 2004) and also another
toggle that could be the cause of the problem. The toggle is off the Plot
Settings tab on the Plot dialog. There are 2 toggles there, one for 'Plot
object lineweights' and one for 'Plot with plot styles'. If you toggle on
the 'Plot with plot styles' option that should automatically toggle on the
other option.

This will be for the printing to a printer, note for the PDF.

I don't have the option to print to a PDF file, so this probably came from
some other program that you have installed on your machine, maybe some Adobe
program. But let me know about the above and we will go from there.
