PLC to ribben connector

I have a customer who wants to wire his PLC's to a ribben cable plug. What would be the best way to go about this?

I would suggest using the Fan In/Fan Out.

It is not quite clear on how exactly fan-in/fan-out is used in AE. Am I supposed to manually draw the actual fan, and then use the signal source/dest. symbols to link wires on each side?

Jay,

You are right. It is not very intuitive on how to use this feature.

You do need to draw the "fan" first. It does not matter what layer you use because ACE will put the lines on the proper layer (usually) when you insert the fan source/destination symbol on the line. You can use any kind of fan that you want: square corners, round corners, fillet corners. The software does not care. I would just suggest that you experiment with it to get them looking exactly how you want them to. The fan source/destinations do not have to be on the same drawing. They can span drawings just like normal S/D pairs.
