PLC componet tag - can It be Family/Sheet#/Vgrid/Hgrid

ACADE 2006 I have included a drawing.
1. How do I set this up so the PLC tag gets displayed like the component tags? I want the PLC tag to be PLC0303F (The sheet number does not get displayed). I only get PLC03F. Our setup is for componets is family/Sheet#/V grid/H grid. Components tags work just fine.
2. When the module is broken, the tag does not display correctly either.

Ken, Is this for a parametrically built PLC module? I believe that the Tag
format for these is actually set up in the PLC Module Builder Database. I've
included a screen shot where this is defined. You can edit the plc database
directly if you need to do a lot of edits but you should make a backup copy
first just in case.

I know this is an old thread but I have problems following our customer demand for tag format when tagging parametric plc units. The customer wants to tag for instance digital input modules according to following:

 -6D051 where

6 =%A (Section)

D =FAMILY

05= sheet no.

1  = Line reference

As can be seen on the attached image I´m not getting the correct result by changing the TAG format in the plc database editor. I have also tried %A%D%S%N but either way I´m not getting the correct result.

Any comments appreciated.

Regards, Gary

Gary,

%F is the family variable. Try that instead.

Hello Bob and thank´s for the hint.

One thing I´m not clear on is if I use the family attribute, where can I define the default Tag-character for the family in this case PLC. If I use the family attribute, %F the module is tagged with nothing that is, I get correct values in for the section, page no. and line reference but nothing for for %F ??

Help...

Regards, Gary

I did not want to leave you hanging. My ability to help is pretty limited right now because I do not have access to ACE. Maybe one of the other users here can chime in.
