Parametric build other than PLCs

Is there any reason not to use the PLC dat
structure to create parametric parts other
than PLCs? Can I create my own files, with the
? third character for style, and use them
similarly to the existing PLC module drawings?
I have tried it and it seems to work. I do get
a string nil error, and was wondering if it was
related to my new drawing block.

Lynne,

There is an alternate parametric symbol builder
utility that might be closer to what you're looking for. Go to the "Electrical"
pulldown > "Report/Misc" > "Debug" and choose the "Parametric Sym Bldr
(prelim)" utility. Let me know if this works or doesn't work for
you.

thanks,

Nate.

PROBLEM WITH PLC.DAT

Despite the fact I found ACE_PLC .MDB file , the PLC.dat file is missing from all directories you have mentioned at HELP chapter 5 and autodesk support postings.
Does not exist in APPLICATION DATA OR PROGRAM FILES

How I can get a PLC.DAT file to work with? I need to create especific OEM modules and related graphic styles.

is the PLC.DAT an unique file per manufacturer or it contains data for all PLCs and Modules?
