I am attempting to create a panel report for a drawing that includes both footprints and one-line symbols.
This is not working. Searching produced that if I remove the "1-" from the WDTYPE attribute that the report will work. This appears to be the case but I wanted to know if there were any ramifications to doing this.
If not, why is the "1-" in there at all??

Hi Bob,
The "1-" is to allow filtering in the schematic Report.
You change it from Schematic to One-line. (it also has filters for Pnuematics, Hydraulics, and P&ID)
I don't think One-line components are supposed to link to the Panel.
The one-line components are supposed to repersent the schematic. (so One-lines link to schematics which show up in the panel report)
I hope this helps,
James
James, That is ta problem. With the "1-" in theWDTYPE, I attempted to create a panel report with "Full: include schematic components not referenced on panel layout" both checked and unchecked. Neither way would include the one-line components that were located on the panel drawing. Only after removing it did they appear.
I think I see what I need to do now. I want to be able to show the cable on a panel type drawing (this is typically an enclosure showing the cordgrips and cables coming out of it). I need to create a footprint symbol that looks like a cable marker but is treated like a panel part.
I just thought of that right now. Sometimes it takes having another take a look at something to sprout a new idea...
Thanks!
Hi Bob,
Glad I could help you generate a new idea!

James
