Multiple copies of a component with one bom entry?

Is it possible to have a schematic component on multiple sheets but only
have it list in the BOM once? I have a component that has multiple video,
audio and control inputs. I need to have a schematic sheet for each type of
input/output; mainly for clarity but only have the component list once.

Is this possible in ACE 2006?

Jim,
Yes, blank out the MFG/CAT attributes on the extra instances of the
component. These will then be passed over in the BOM reporting. But... they
will be flagged in the "Missing BOM" report... in which case you just
ignore.
Nate.

I run into this a lot with components with power requirements and lots of I/O points.
How I normally handle it is to explode the main block and use black box builder to create a child part to use on the additional drawings.
If you use this method then you wont have the missing BOM information problem, and each instance of the block will carry the same device tag.
To get even fancier you can make use of the xref attribute to show the page/lines, of all instances, on the parent part.
