Moving project to network

I have an ACE 2005 project that I created on my local (C:) drive. I recently upgraded to ACE 2006. After completing the project, I copied the project onto our company's server and deleted it from my hard drive. Now, when I try to open the project directly from the server, I get a status bar label Updating.... I let it run once for over 3 hours, and it got approximately 40% of the way across the screen. I've had the exact same problem when using the Copy Project function.

If I copy the project back to my hard drive, it works fine. I also tried moving the built-in demo project with the same results.

Lastly, it seems to be tied somehow to my computer, since I had someone else open the project, and it worked fine.

Any help would be significantly appreciated.

Hi EdBalwin,

If I understood your issue, my suggestion is:

1) Run ACE2006 SP1.
2) Delete your project file and create a new file.
3) Delete your local project database (located in ACE2006/User folder )

PS: Maybe you should test performance moving your local ACE shared files to
your network. See "Advanced Productivity Help --> Setting Up AutoCAD
Electrical for Multiple users"....

I hope it can help you.

Tried all that to no avail. What seems to be happening is that when I copy the project to our company server (either by copying the files manually, then reopening it, or by using the Copy Project command), the project database gets automatically rebuilt. This seems to be taking literally hours to do.

Anyone have any ideas?
