I have a lighted push button but where's the Footprint for the panel layout? I need to have my output and my input associated with one footprint.

Footprints are associated to catalog data. If the catalog data that you are using does not have or not assigned footprint then it will give you option to create a mock footprint to on the drawing.

You can use footprint editor to map the blocks. Command is AEFOOTPRINTDB to add/modify/delete the records in footprint editor.
