Those files are usually found in your JIC25 library. Be sure that your JIC25 library is in your support file search path and that it is near the top of your search files.

Hope this helps

I am using IEC standards. I have had to start a new project and it is working now. When trying to create a new PLC the model i require is not tere, is there a tutorial to create one from scratch?

Hi Shane_222,

Check to make sure your library contains those files.

You can find the Libraries in:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Acade 20XX\Libs

In your case check the IEC libraries (not sure which one your using, could be IEC2, IEC4, or IEC-60617)

Thank you, it was IEC 60617 Smiley Very Happy .

Is there a way of creating a parametric PLC that pans across drawings rather than it going off the drawing into the abyss?

Hi Shane_222,

When your placing the PLC, make sure you select "Allows Spacers/Breaks"

When you Break the module, and press esc, it will tell you it has saved the rest of the module.

You can place the other half (or other pieces if you break it again), on another page.

Just start the PLC command again, and it will pick up where it left off.

The PLC thats stored in Memory MUST be placed during the session you placed the first part otherwise the remaining data is lost.

If you start a new plc during this time it will also purge out the old one.

So the best thing to do is to place the PLC on the pages required (even if they are off to the side of the other pages.).

I hope this helps,

James

This was a big help thank you......again.

Is there any way to further break the modules down to fit on the page?

Hi 5Hane_222 (Thought it was Shane... LOL),

Yes you can additional breaks to existing modules by editing them in the PLC Database editor.

( Schematic tab > Other tools Dropdown > PLC Database Dropdown, but select the "PLC database" not the other databases accessible in the dropdown).

There is a checkbox for "Break after" just flag where you want the breaks to occur.

the Allow spacers and Breaks gives you the greatest Flexiblity, since you can select break at any time (so you can place 3 I/O points, make a break, then press esc, start the plc command again place the next few lines, make a break, press esc, and keep repeating until your done.

In theory you could place each I/O point individually,  but normally I place a group of about 4 - 16 i/o points before making a break.

Let me know if you need any help with it, I'll grab a few screenshots if you need them.

Regards,
