Inserted component is wrong symbol

Trying to insert a standard solenoid coil into my schematic, but the symbol that the icon menu points to appears to be for a pipe or a P&ID drawing.  The other three items (Manual Reset Solenoid, NO Contact, & NC Contact) point to their correct symbols.

We need a bit more info than what you provided.  Which symbol library are you using?

My solenoid symbols insert correctly.  The block is HSV1 for horizontal wire or VSV1 for vertical wire.  It looks somewhat like a lightning bolt if it comes from the JIC or NFPA libraries.  The look of the symbol is based upon ANSI Y32.2.  The IEC version looks like a relay coil (rectangular shape in IEC) and has what resembles fan blades sticking out the side of it, reprsesenting that it conrols some sort of valve.  The IEC version is based upon IEC-60617.

Might you be confusing solenoid with control relay?  Those are two different symbols.  A control relay is round in JIC or NFPA, again based upon ANSI Y32.2.
