How to make attributes appear on panel components?

I'd like to make attributes that are attached to the schematic representation appear on the panel representation of a component. It looks like I should be able to do this with the commands on the Link palette, but I've been unsuccessful thus far. Interested in displaying all of the attributes: location & installation code, and getting the pin numbers would be great. Can anyone point me in the right direction under the Help menu or give me a little guidance here?

Hi,

There is a command under the Panel Toolbar --> Edit Footprint flyout called
"Make Xdata visible". This can be used to take a number of the invisible
"extended entity data" elements on an existing footprint representation and
flip them to visible attributes.

A cleaner way to do get the same result is to edit the "attribute template"
drawing that AcadE merges into a panel footprint representation when it is
intially inserted into your layout drawing. If you examine the command
window, you may see a message something like this after you've inserted a
panel footprint symbol:

Merged attribute template: C:\program files\autodesk\acade
2006\Libs\panel\wd_ptag_addattr_comp.dwg

If you display this drawing you will see some attribute definitions. Pop in
a few more like LOC and INST. Then, when you insert additional footprints
(you may have to purge your drawing, not sure), you should get these to come
in with your footprint as attributes instead of xdata.

An even cleaner way (but more work) is to add your attribute definitions to
each footprint library symbol.

Nate.
