How do you turn off the tooltips?
I have set it to <0> but it will not disappear.

See attached screenshot.

Thanks

Chad,

The ToolTips variable, when set to 0) will turn off the tooltips that appear
when you put the cursor over one of the icons on a toolbar but will not turn
off notifications on the tray like the one shown in your graphic, the
communication center notification. If you would like to turn that off,
click on the little satellite icon on the lower right of your screen and
select 'Settings' on the 'Communications Center' dialog. Then you can
toggle off the 'Enable Balloon Notification for new announcements' option.

You can also select on the down arrow directly to the right of these tray
icons and select 'Tray Settings'. This will bring up a dialog with more
options to control these services.

You might want to check all the setting out before choosing which ones to
turn off.

Steve,
Thanks for the info.
Maybe is wasn't clear on the picture or called it by the wrong name.
What I want to get rid of is the little shaded rectangle that appears below the cross hairs telling you what to do such as "pick other corner"
While it may be helpful if you are a new user, I find it very annoying.

Along the bottom of your screen where you have the "buttons" for OSNAP,
SNAP, GRID, etc...you should see one that says DYN, you can turn the new
Heads-Up display off here. You can also right-click and go into more
settings regarding this feature.

I hope this helps!
