Has anyone ever sucessfully inserted a connector from a list? (ACADE2008)

Has anyone ever sucessfully inserted a connector from a list?

If so, could you please send a properly formatted csv file?

I have created what I believe to be a properly formatted file, but it is not accepted by the import function.

thanks in advance

I don't have a csv file to send you but if you want to send me yours I can take a look at it. You can post it here or send it to me directly at pat.murnen@autodesk.com.

Mr. Murnen,

I believe I got it to work.  My main question isthis: Is it possible to import the pin description info?  This import tool really seems redundant unless you can import that info.

Thanks

Can you be more specific as to what you mean by pin description? Which attribute on an AcadE symbol?

I believe the attribute is 'TERMDESCxx'.

It doesn't look like that one is supported in the import. This isn't my area of expertise so I will see if I can find out anything more. But, right now I would say that it isn't supported.

Thanks for the effort.   This info would be most helpful for a connector import.

Please consider it for the next release.

I will log it. I believe the structure of this import came from the structure from the Inventor export. So I am wondering if there isn't anything corresponding in Inventor. That is just a guess since this is not my area of expertise.

Anyway, logging it means that it is considered for future improvements.

Mr. Murnen,

One more question about using connectors.  Is it possible to re-join a split connector?

Thanks

No. I don't think there is a way to rejoin a block that has been split. My only suggestion is if you are inserting from a list you can delete the connector pieces and reinsert.

jjs38,

Can you post an example of the CSV file you were able to sucessfully import? Everytime I try to import a file into ACE it just throws an error about the number of columns.

Thanks!

EE_Guy,

My apologies, but it has been so long since I worked on that project, I do not recall what I did to get it to work.
