Hi,
I am creating a From/To report on wires numbers but would like to understand how AutoCAD Electrical determines CMP1, PIN1, CMP2 & PIN2.
Can someone please advise.
Thanks in advance.
As I understand (and I might be wrong), the FROM/TO information is "read" from the start of a wire to the end, and the wire connection points at each end are what determine what CMP1, CMP2, PIN1, and PIN2 are.
In laymans terms, it would follow this pattern:
1) To/From finds a wire.
2) To/From looks at the start point of the wire and pulls CMP1 (the tag number of the device it's connected to) and PIN1 (the TERMXX value for the connection point) and places it into the report.
3) To/From looks at the end point of the wire and pulls CMP2 (the tag number of the device it's connected to) and PIN2 (the TERMXX value for the connection point) and places it into the report.
4) To/From repeats the process until all wires have been accounted for.

The wire list is compiled using the sort order of the drawing.
To be clear, you mean this setting, right?

How does it generate the report if you leave the sort order set at no override?
The drawings are PLC Wiring Diagrams and I want my report sorted so that all the PLC addresses appear as CMP1 and the components tags appear as CMP2 in which I had previously but now the PLC addresses are appearing in both fields. I am not sure what I have done to make this happen. Can you advise.
