Duplicate Terminal Numbers

Hi.

I've got 2 sheets. Sheet 1 is Location IC001 and sheet 2 is Location EV001. Both these properties are set in the Drawing Properties.

I insert a numbered terminal on sheet 1, named X1:1 and do the same on sheet 2. If I run Electrical Audit now, AcadE says that I have used the same terminal number twice...

These are different terminal groups in different locations and shouldn't be reported as a duplicate.. or?

If they are both tagged as X1:1 without having the loc/inst data inserted,
ACADE will cause the error you are seeing.
To get around it, go to project properties, and select the Components tab
Make sure the box is ticked to combine the INST/LOC into the tag, and
deselect the box that formats the INST/LOC into the tag if you don't want
them showing up on the dwg.
This will trigger a tag regeneration if you change the settings but it won't
actually change the tags you set, just how they look

Hmm.. ok. But you SHOULDN'T have to do that? If you have to do that AcadE should also say that -K1 at sheet 1 and -K1 at sheet 2 also have duplicate tags? Even though they don't have the location code in the symbol...

I find this strange but accept it if there is no other solution 🙂

I've noticed that with terminals ACADE doesn't do the check (at least in the
2008 version). We use a lot of duplicate terminals for power bus's and I
have yet to have an alert come up because the terminal already exists.
Standard components will cause the alert to pop up though.
