default_cat.mdb problem

When I insert true AE (or edit the db directly) a new record and select this for my component then AE hangs. I have to force it to shut down.

The strange thing is that if I just type the catalog and manufacturer data in the appropriate fields it works (only the ratings etc will not be retrieved)
If I choose an original item in the catalog db then it works fine.
The command line shows "closing mdb file..."

What could I do to make this work? Reinstall?

Hi Peter,
Let's not reinstall. Sounds like something goofy with the edited catalog mdb
file. Can you zip and email it to me privately along with one of the catalog
assignments that fails and one that works for comparison?

The solution:

This is due to the fact that in the "_pinlist" table the field "pinlist" is left empty. Fill in a dummy "4,X" or type the catalog in manually.
This is recognized as a bug by AutoDesk (Nate Holt) and will probably be fixed with the next release or with a service pack.
