Dashed Link (P)Lines - How to I permanently set the linetype

My companies standard is to use a Magenta coloured line with a Dot linetype to link components.

Is it possible edit the linetype and colour for this command?

Just change the color/linetype of the LINK layer. Do this in your drawing
template as well to set it as the default values.
