BUG Incomplete signal xref update, leaves hexadecimal codes

AE 2012 SP1 on XP SP3 32bit

Have an issue where project wide update of signal cross-references / wire number is failing or incomplete.

Symptoms

-project wide update of signal cross references does not complete

-some signal xrefs show as hexadecimal codes instead of proper numbers

-you can see a sample in the attachment

Conjecture:

I think AE takes several "passes" through the project to do a complete signal xref update.

It like lt sticks temporary codes in on one of the early passes.

At some point in the process it fails or completes prematurely, leaving the temporary codes in place

For your issue, can you give us a sample project with some drawings which can reproduce the issue?

Then we can check what is the problem there. as we can't reproduce the issue in our Demo Project.
