break wire (how to)

Is there somewhere an option to break a wire on a component?
If i already have placed a component and draw over this component a wire. How do you break the wire?
Or if you copy a component and place it on a wire. How do you break the wire?

If you use the AcadE Insert wire command it should break automatically if
the component has wire connection attributes. If you use the AcadE Copy
Component command and place the component right on a wire, it should break
the wire automatically.

Are you using these commands and the wires are not breaking?

Yes i know.
But suppose you have drawn a line over a component and changed that line afterwards to a wire. Is there then an option to break the wire on the component?

For example:
If you have the situation like mentioned above, you click a button and select the component and the wire will get broken.

Do i have to write a lisp for it or is it already somewhere in AE?

Thanks,
Peter

There is not a command to do this specifically. You can use the regular
AutoCAD Break command. You could also use the AcadE Move Component and move
it enough to break the wires and then Scoot it back. You could delete the
wire and reinsert right across the component and it will break
automatically.

I will log this idea as a suggested feature for the future.

could maybe try TRIM
window select the component
enter
then trim the wires back

No, not quite.

For a coil it means you first have to draw a box or 2 lines true the coil connections. The trim only works on intersecting lines.
