BOM to .XLS Causes ACE to Hang

I have tried to save a panel BOM in Excel format using the Group by Inst/Loc and it causes ACE to hang up every time. Has anyone else had this issue? It has been duplicated on 2 other computers. It only happens when I process drawings that have footprints on them.

Details:
OS/ Windows or Vista
Excel Pro 2003
ACE 2008, SP1

Project-wide Panel BOM
Including schematic items
Normal Tallied Format group by Inst/Loc
Save as Excel .xls

If there is no footprint it saves normally and the "user post" dialogue comes up. If I process any drawing with a footprint the .xls file is created but gives a "Cannot access file" error when I attempt to open it. The "user post" dialogue never appears and I have to shut down ACE through task manager.

I wasn't able to reproduce this with my set of drawings. Can you send me a
drawing of yours to try? My direct email is pat.murnen@autodesk.com.

After looking at the drawings you sent me directly, I think the issue is
with the blank Component Tags. If you add a Component Tag value to each
panel component I believe the report should run properly. I have logged this
issue. Please let me know if this doesn't solve the issue.
