BOM data and .mdb files

When I add parts to a drawing with BOM data, the .mdb file does not appear
to be updating. I run a BOM for the sheet and the parts do not appear, yet
they are on the drawing and have BOM data associated with them. I have run
the rebuild file data base utility several times with no success. The
drawings and the .mdb are on my local PC.

If you are placing the BOM into the drawing, in order to get the new parts to show up, you will need to erase the old BOM. Then go to "drawing utilities" and do a "purge" to purge the old BOM block out of your drawing. You should then be able to insert the new BOM into the drawing with the latest changes.
Hope this helps

My problem is different. Here is a better explanation and a test I just ran.

1/ Project was created in AutoCAD Electrical 2006 from a 2005 project using
"Copy Project".

2/ Drawing has 16 motor starters that all have part numbers (from
default_cat.mdb).

3/ Purge the drawing.

4 Run "Schematic Report, BOM, Active drawing" . Report Generator shows the
16 starters (on the screen).

5/ Close Schematic report.

6/ Add two more starters on the sheet using "Copy Component"

7/ Verify that added parts have the same BOM data and "Location Code".

8/ Run "Schematic Report, BOM, Active drawing" . Report Generator still
shows 16 starters (on the screen). New parts are not picked up.

9/ Run "rebuild database file".

10/ Run "Schematic Report, BOM, Active drawing" . Report Generator still
shows 16 starters (on the screen). New parts are still not picked up.

11/ Close AutoCAD .

12/ Delete project mdb from "D:\Documents and Settings\e329022\Application
Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD Electrical 2006\R16.2\enu\Support\User"

13/ Open AutoCAD and run "Schematic Report, BOM, Active drawing" . Report
Generator now shows the added starters (on the screen).

Before I run a new BOM report, I always run the Rebuild/Freshen Project Database utility, doing a Full Rebuild. The report then picks up new components.

I have been performing "Rebuild/Freshen Project Database utility, doing a
Full Rebuild". See step 9 below. I also tried it again this morning attached
is AutoCAD text window of the commands. Still not picking up the two parts I
copied.
