autocad electrical 2014 manufacturer footprint libraries

I have installed AutoCAD Electrical 2014, and I'd like to go back and add the manufacturer footprints and libraries that I skipped during the installation (during the installation I only added AB and ABB).  So I have gone to my control panel (as if I were uninstalling the program), and run the installer in "maintenance mode".  I chose "add/remove features," selected my manufacturer content and symbol libraries, and pressed next.

On the page that has feature descriptions, the installation path shows:  C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2014, and it cannot be changed (it is "grayed out").  After I run the installation it says I've successfully updated the product, but I cannot find any of those footprints.  Where is the new manufacturer content?

Hello kellengross1,

I have ACE 2013, but I assume the libraries are kept up the same.

Where the footprint files are kept for 2013 are...

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Acade 2013\Libs\Panel

This may be a good place to check if they installed correctly.

Hello,

Would you please help to try to add/remove for another time to see if the issue still happen?

Also may I know if you install the ACE2014 directly from a DVD or from a deployment with symbol libraries shared in a server?

The Catalog database is in the following folder:

C:\Users\shouz\Documents\Acade 2014\AeData\en-US\Catalogs\default_cat.mdb

C:\Users\shouz\Documents\Acade 2014\AeData\en-US\Catalogs\footprint_lookup.mdb

And the symbol libs are in this folder:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Acade 2014\Libs

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Acade 2014\Libs\panel

Thanks,

Robin Shou

Hello rodrigasso,

Check your projects properties.
Right click on your project in the project manager and go to properties.
In the first tab, check the paths of your schematic, panel, P&ID, etc. And make sure they're pointing to the new 2014 database location.
Also, the symbol library file will be located under the support folder of your databases.

Hy Kellengross,

1) try to load the ribbon again
   with command _ribbon

2) otherwise you can try to unload the cuiix and load the ACADe cuix again
   with command_menuload

hopefully succes
