AutoCAD Electrical 2006 Service Pack 2 - list of resolved issues

All,
This is a list of issues addressed by AcadE 2006 SP2 (pulled from its
"readme" file). This
service pack is available through Comm Center. You can also access via this
link:
Link:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=5960929&linkID=4199154
Nate.

Summary of the Primary Issues Resolved by the Service Pack 2

1. Actions That No Longer Generate Fatal Error

When in SDI mode and using Project Manager to open another
drawing while still running an AutoCAD Electrical command.

When viewing the multiple catalog information returned from
an alternative catalog lookup routine.

When using DDATTE or EATTEDIT on a terminal block with
annotation that was inserted with Terminal Strip Editor.

2. Cross-Referencing Issues

Pin information now correctly populates onto a 3 pole contact
if the parent component has an Installation (Function) and/or
Location value (either defined explicitly or through the drawing
default).

The 'Use pinlist order' option is now correctly referenced
when generating component cross-referencing.

'Too Many Contact' warning is now correctly displayed when
using Form-C contacts.

Drawing default Installation (Function) and Location codes
are now being taken into account when cross-referencing
parent and child symbols with no Installation (Function)
and Location values assigned.

Graphical Cross-referencing is no longer displaying extra
cross-referencing text when Form-C contacts are used.

When using graphical cross-referencing and inter-discipline
parent cross-referencing, the cross-referencing to the
non-contact child symbols is preserved.

Contacts with no CONTACT attribute or with a blank CONTACT
attribute value now correctly get represented with graphical
cross-referencing on their parent.

3. Inserting and Editing Component Issues

Din rails and wire duct now get inserted correctly on
drawings that have INSUNITS set to something other than
Unitless or Inches.

Inserting a 3 pole component on a horizontal multi-wire
bus will now draw the component up or down depending on
which wire of the multi-wire bus you select. If there are
wires below the selected wire, then the 3 pole component
will build down. If the bottom wire is selected, the 3
pole component will build up.

Loading an external file for inserting panel footprint
now works without returning a bad argument error.

Using the WD_ACADPATHFIRST environment setting in the WD.ENV
file no longer causes failure when browsing for footprint
symbols from the Insert Footprint: Panel Layout Symbols
dialog.

When inserting terminal footprints, the Installation (Function)
and Location values for schematic terminals that used the
drawing defaults now correctly get placed on to the footprint
symbols.

Holding the Ctrl key down and pressing the right mouse button
now correctly brings up the Osnap menu.

Terminal blocks that have a '1' in the 4th character of their
block name no longer cause a bad argument error when updating
a footprint or child component on another drawing.

When using IEC tagging mode and inserting multiple instances
of a schematic terminal with the same Tag-ID, the terminal
number now increments appropriately.

With Combined Installation/Location and component Tag mode ON,
terminal footprints representations now get populated with the
Installation/Location codes assigned to the schematic terminal.

4. Project Database Service Issues

Drawing default Location value is now properly getting updated
in the project scratch database.

Wire destination symbols that are inserted at a negative Y
location on a drawing are now correctly evaluated and their
wire number information correctly reported in various from/to
reports.

Second and third descriptions on terminals (DESC2 and DESC3)
are now being extracted to the scratch database.

Wire From/To report now reports intra-component wire connection
jumpers correctly.

Quote marks in cable marker text, component location text and
component installation (function) text no longer cause error
when updating the scratch database.

Delete Project when run on the current Active project no
longer returns an AcePmComServer error message (Delete Project
is now disallowed on the Active project).

Wire line layer definitions now correctly allow a wildcard to
be used as the first character of the name.

5. Terminal Strip Editor Issues

Terminal sequence now getting saved back to the drawings
correctly.

Terminal Strip Editor now uses the font style that is
defined on the terminal footprint block when the strips
are inserted.

Fixed miscellaneous error messages returned from Terminal
Strip Editor.

6. Wires and Wire Number Issues

Delete Component now checks all gaps on a wire network to
verify that after the deletion is complete the wire network
is still intact.

A right-click Edit Wire will now edit an in-line wire number
copy on a wire network that has no wire number defined.

Fan-In/Out in-line text markers now use the wire label auto
gap setting (if enabled) to automatically adjust the wires
around the markers to fit the description.

The Copy Wire Number (In-Line) command no longer brings up
the Modify/Fix/UnFix dialog when an in-line wire number copy
is placed on a wire network that already has an existing
wire number.

Insert Angled Tee Markers and Toggle Angled Tee Markers are
no longer affected by the Osnap setting.

The terminal commands Mark Internal Connection and Mark
External Connection now correctly place the handle of the
destination component in the XnTERMDESC attributes and
preserve any information returned from the Terminal Strip
Editor.

In-line wire label gap settings now correctly gets written
out to the project WDP file without interfering with the
project's drawing list.

Wire numbers now correctly get placed on drawings with
graphics in Model tab but saved with Layout tab selected.

7. Report Issues

Editing a report that was placed on the drawing now correctly
reports any assembly code values and no longer re-reads the
description information back from the catalog database.

Wire From/To report now does a better job of filtering out
From and To locations that contain no data.

Panel Bill of Material report no longer reports items that
are located on a drawing that is flagged as 'for reference
only'.

8. Component Tagging Issues

Multiple Insert Component on schematic terminals now correctly
parses the Tag-ID and does not blank out the terminal number
after the first terminal insertion if a hyphen is included
as the first character of the Tag-ID.

Sequential Tagging mode now correctly increments component
tags when flipping between open drawings.

Project-wide Retag now updates the Panel footprints.

9. Promis-e® Issues

Conversion now places a CONTACT attributes on child components
that appear to be contacts so that graphical cross-referencing
can be displayed correctly on the parent.

Conversion now searches for contacts that appear to be form-C
and flags them as such instead of defaulting to "normally open".

Cross-referencing text on parent components is now getting
placed more accurately.

Mirrored and/or rotated components more accurately hold
their position during the conversion.

10. General Issues

Fixed problems with switching back and forth between the
project's default catalog lookup file and a defined alternate
catalog lookup file.

Find/Edit/Replace Component Text no longer returns error
message in localized versions.

Wire Layer Utility now correctly changes layers that contain
a mix of upper and lower case letters characters.

Restored certain attribute visibility of in-line wire number
copy symbols in GB2,IEC2, IEC4, and JIS2 libraries. Could
cause rare wire number change problem through the symbol.

Miscellaneous contact (child) components now show the
terminal number in the correct location.

Task List now correctly updates drawings for a project
when the project and drawings are located on different
drives.

Holding the Shift key down and pressing the right mouse
button now correctly brings up the Osnap menu.

AutoCAD Electrical right-click menu now takes the AutoCAD
Right-click Customization setting into account.
