APPID error importing DXF files into ACADE 2011

I am experiencing difficulties trying to import DXF files into ACADE 2011.  The error that comes up is:

Error in APPID Table
DXF read error on line 3862.
Invalid or incomplete DXF input -- drawing discarded.

I opened up the file in WORD and found these lines:

APPID

  5

981

330

9

100

AcDbSymbolTableRecord

100

AcDbRegAppTableRecord

  2

ACAD_DSTYLE_DIMJOGGED_JOGANGLE_SYMBOL

 70

       0    < line 3862

  0

APPID

Any help in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.  This particular job has 90 drawings, many others have over 150 that will need to be imported.

Kind Regards,

Mike

We also noted the same error produced by creating a dxf file from AutoCAD Electical by using the dxfout command.
