Alternate catalog mdb file

where in the env file do I set the path to an alternate catalog database and what table does AE look for and does it use this new source for all of the BOM reports?

Jeff, The alternate catalog lookup file needs to be an "mdb" file with tables, just like your main catalog lookup file (ex: main=default_cat.mdb). You set this up on a per-project basis. Go to PROJ dialog > Misc Settings > Other file > browse to the alternate catalog file. Now, when you pop in a symbol and do catalog lookup, if the part number you want isn't in the main catalog file, pick the "Other - reference another file or table" button. "Switch" to your alternate catalog lookup file and find the part number you want to use. Hit OK and OK. Now, when BOM is run or the "Qchk" quick BOM check button selected, AcadE will first look in the main file for the target part number. If it can't find it there and if the project has an "alternate" catalog lookup file defined, AcadE will check this file to the target part number. Does this answer your question?? Nate.
