AE2013 DATABASES

I have just downloaded/installed AE2013.

When I search for a typical catalogue part number or try to insert a PLC component, all there seems to be is Allen Bradley & ABB part numbers.  Have I missed something during the installation.  If so, where did I go wrong.

PS. Bring back the old Snap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like you didn't select the other manufacturers when you installed the program.  They are definitely there.

The new snap allows you to grip without having to toggle snap off, in case what you need to grip is off the snap grid.  But you can revert to the legacy snap behavior by typing SNAPGRIDLEGACY at the command prompt and setting it to 1.

Thank you for the Snap solution, I'll now go back to 2013.

Regarding the database issue, when I downloaded the 64bit version, there were no tick boxes for database requests so I assumed it would install all libraries.

Looking at the default_cat database, it contains the following 'Pin List' tables:-

_PINLIST

_PINLIST_AB

_PINLIST_ABB

_PINLIST_ANIXER

_TERMPROPS_AB

There are no other manufacturers Pinlists.  We also use the IEC2 symbols rather than the JIC.  There was no selection process for selecting this either.

Can you clarify where I have gone wrong please.

Thanks,

1. Go to Control Panel>Programs and Features and select AutoCAD Electrical 2013.

2. Click Uninstall/Change at the top of the list.

3. Click Add or Remove Features

4. Select the manufacturers you wish to add.

5. Click next and select any additional symbol library you wish to add.

6.  Click Next and then click Update.

See attached screen captures for clarification.
