ACE2006 Device Tags

I've set the device tags project wide to be sequential, beginning with 01. It appears that on each sheet, these tags begin with 01 instead of ACE continuing the number sequence. Is there another setting that I've missed? Or is this something that has been broken since 2005?

Martin,

Several things to check...
1. AutoCAD OPTIONS dialog --> Open and Save --> make sure "Create backup
copy with each save" is toggled ON
2. Are you in "IEC tagging mode" or normal? If IEC tagging, then the
drawing-wide default "IEC coding" values are taken into account to make up a
unique sequential tag. If the defaults are different between dwgs, then the
"01" is going to be repeated on the 2nd drawing.

Let me know if neither of the above resolves the problem.

thanks!
Nate.

Nate,

The "Create Backup. . . is toggled on, and I am not using IEC tagging. Will keep looking.

Thanks, Martin

Nate,

Today this seems to be working OK. Not to certain what is different. So don't spend too much time looking for a problem that may not exist. Maybe I needed a nice long vacation. . . Hmmmm.
Thanks,

Martin
