We have been in transition from a non-AutoDesk CAD program to AutoCADE 2008. We are now at the point of hooking it up to our existing data management software.
We tried to use Vault; but straight Vault does not do what we need it to do and going to ProductStream will affect too many other departments. The problem with standard Vault is the lack of permissions on a folder by folder level.
Does anyone use AutoCADE with any other data management program? How does it work?
We use Documentum, which at a quick glance looks like we can make it work, well enough for our needs.
We just have to add the reports and Signal to Destination markers, at the end of the project. It also looks like the "Project Update" button will connect all parent and children of the same name together.
Does that sound like it might work, even if it is the longer way of doing it?
