2010 Symbol Builder

nearly at screaming point! Just modified a symbol I had built earlier saved it with the same name and ACADE asked if I wish to overwrite both symbol.DWG and the ICON Image.PNG .. but when I try inserting it I get the old symbol still! I have even renamed deleted the old file then renamed the new back closed the drawing and it still does the same...it will be OK if I give it a new name but I don't want to!

anyone know why?

You need to purge that symbol. The dwg is remembering the way the block used to be and using it. Or if you do give it a new name then just swap blocks as long as your insertion point is the same. but i believe purge will fix it for you.
