1794 I/O MODULE SYMBOLS

I have 6 1794 symbols in my symbol library, all of the symbols are 8 bit. I can go to the catalog lookup and find the part numbers for all the 1794 parts. How do I find the other symbols. Is this a common problem or do I need to reload something? All of the other AB I/O modules seem to be there.

If you have Microsoft Access you can look and change the PLC database which is populated with the modules. For some reason Autodesk didn't populate the selections with all of the modules in the database. The database you want is in the Support/AEDATAPLC/ ace_plc.mdb. When you open the database select the module that you want (not the one that has "_data" at the end of the file name . If the module isn't in the database, add it. once this is done you should be able to select it from the PLC insert icon. Hopes this helps.

All

I would recommend making use of the wizard for modifying and creating
new PLC cards rather than the manual method of editing the database. If you
go to the COMPONENTS pull down menu, select INSERT PLC MODULE, you will see
and option for a feature called PLC DATABASE FILE EDITOR. This is utility
to assist in the modification and creation of PLC cards within the database
mentioned previously. Take a look at this tool, I think you will find it
much easier to use than editing the database itself!!
