Wire numbering

I have many wire layers on in my drawing.  Currently, they are named with the guage and color...an example would be "16AWG_RED" or "14AWG_BLU".  When I number the wires, I would like to just use the color and number, not the guage.  I'm not sure how to do this.  In the wire layer setup, I have added the color in the "Wire Color" column as "RED" for all red wires, etc. I also typed the color in the "USER1" column.  I do not understand how to insert either the "Wire Color" column or the "USER1" variables into the wire numbering format.

I would like the wire number to come out like "RED 3" or "BLU 24" as an example.  I have tried making the wire number format "%1  %N" and "%C  %N" but I assume neither one of these are valid variables.

Hi Showlesscraig,

Try "%C %S" to get your "Red 3", or "Red 24" format.

Here is what you can use inside of the "Create/Edit Wire Layers":

%C - Colour

%S - Wire Size (Gauge)

%1 -  User Var # 1

%2 -  User Var # 2

%3 -  User Var # 3

%4 -  User Var # 4

%5 -  User Var # 5

I hope this helps,

James
